There are so many ways to make reading FUN with
Scugog Public Library’s Summer Reading Club.
When you register for the Summer reading club, you get…..
- Reporting Kit: a pocket sized journal that you can use to list the books you’ve read over the summer. Collect stickers for it when you tell Virginia about how much you’ve read.
- Read & Bead Kit: Choose your reading style with this cool Read & Bead starter kit with your choice of Brag Tag. This summer, the more time you spend reading, the more beads you can add to your brag tag chain.
- Secret Code: get access all summer long to a super-awesome website with amazing reading challenges, e-books, and fun games, jokes & puzzles. Use Your Code Now>>


Summer Programs
- Read & Bead Reporting
The more you read, the more beads you can collect and add to your Brag Tag! Keep track of your reading minutes using your journal or by using the free Beanstack App/website, then come into the library and tell us about what you’ve read to receive collectable beads! - Sunshine Stories
This weekly drop-in program is for children ages 5 to 8 and their parent/caregiver. Each week consists of an outdoor storytime (weather permitting) with age-appropriate reading selections and a nature-based craft. This is a drop-in program; registration is not required.

- Weekly Crafts, Experiments & Activities:
Children ages 5 and up can join us every Tuesday at 2pm for an hour of themed crafts, experiments, and activities. This is a drop-in program; registration is not required.

Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math through fun, hands-on activities at our STEAM Tweens, Jr Makers and Brick Heads programs!

Pair your child with a Teen Reading Buddy this summer! This program is for school-aged kids going into grades 2-5 in the fall and is perfect for kids who could benefit from some extra encouragement to continue reading over the summer months. Registration for Reading Buddies begins on June 24th. Sign-up here >>
- Family Crafternoons:
A great opportunity for families to explore arts and crafts together! Children of all ages can attend with their parents or caregivers to make a different project each week. This is an all-ages drop-in program; no registration is required.

Everyone is invited to the library on August 17th for a huge party starting at 2pm! Bring your read beads with you and celebrate all the reading you’ve accomplished this summer! There will be crafts and games, music and snacks… and some very special guests!
