See Jack Grunsky in Concert!  

We are very proud to host a family concert with Juno Award-Winning entertainer Jack Grunsky as part of the 'Summer Breeze Arts Festival' presented by the Scugog Council for the Arts.

 

Over the past 25 years, Jack Grunsky's name has become synonymous with excellence in children's music. His 13 recordings have received the most prestigious awards, including 3 Junos! 

When: Saturday, August 18th at 2 pm

Where: Scugog Memorial Public Library

 

Tickets: $6 each or $20 for a family of 4

Tickets are available for purchase at the Library and at the Scugog Arts Resource Centre at 181 Perry Street, Unit G1 

 

Teen Events this Summer

Johnny Depp Teen Film Festival  

A one-night film festival for teens only. Come munch popcorn & Burtonesque treats while you and your friends watch two short great films featuring Johnny Depp: Benny & Joon (PG) and Rango (PG).

 

 

When: Thursday, July 19th from 5:30 to 9 pm    

Tickets for all films are $2 and may be purchased at the door or at the Library up to a week in advance of the show.   

   

 

 

 

Hunger Games DVD Release!

Audiobook BannerHelp us celebrate one of the hottest DVD releases of the year at our Hunger Games DVD launch party. Join us for  a screening of the film as well as snacks and prizes!

When: Tuesday, August 21st at 6pm

 

Movie tickets are $2 each. This film is rated 14A. No one under 14 will be admitted unless accompanied by an adult. 

SUMMER READING CLUB!

Get ready for a Summer full of adventure with the TD Summer Reading Club!

Use your imagination to embark on a refreshing trip over & under the sea with this year's TD Summer Reading Club Theme -Imagine! 


Registration Begins on Friday, June 28th at 10 am, but you can sign up any time after that date.  You can participate in any way you'd like.  You can join us each week for reading club programs or read on your own and report in at the library. 

This year we're offering a drop-in on Thursday mornings where you can report on what you've read and score points for your team.

Bring your little one for songs, stories and movement activities in this fast-paced, fun-filled half-hour program.  For 1 to 3 year olds.

When: 11:15 to 11:45 am

Preschool Storytime  Children ages 3 to 5 will enjoy a 45 minute session  featuring exciting and educational literacy activities. Join us for stories, songs and take-home crafts.

Babytime
This great program is designed just for babies (newborn to 18 months) and their parents or care-givers. Learn new songs, rhymes and bounces you can share with your baby at home!

Tech for Tots    
This unique program for 3 to 5 year olds teaches the basics of computer skills through child-friendly, educational web-sites.

When: 10:00 to 10:30 am
