SUMMER READING CLUB!
Come help crack the case at the Library this summer! Sign up to enjoy a summer full of crafts, stories and most of all...mystery. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to have a great time at the library all summer long!

Registration Begins on Friday, June 26th at 10 am, but you can sign up any time after that date.  You can participate in any way you'd like.  You can join us each week for reading club programs or read on your own and report in at the library. 

This year we're offering a drop-in on Wednesday afternoons where you can report on what you've read and score points for your team.

Summer Reading Club Theme Activities
If you have joined our summer reading club, you can also take part in some fun activities throughout the summer. Each week has its own theme:
Week 1 (June 29-July 3): Headquarters Hunt

Movie tickets are $1 each and are available a week in advance of the film.  Children 10 an under must be accompanied by an adult.

Our Early Literacy Programs Continue this Summer!

Bring your little one for songs, stories and movement activities in this fast-paced, fun-filled half-hour program.  For 1 to 3 year olds.
Wednesday or Thursday mornings
11:15 to 11:45 am from July 15th to August 16th

Preschool Storytime         
Children ages 3 to 5 will enjoy a 45 minute session  featuring exciting and educational literacy activities. Join us for stories, songs and take-home crafts. Wednesday or Thursday mornings 10:30 to 11:15 am from July 15th to August 16th

Tech for Tots  
This unique program for 3 to 5 year olds teaches the basics of computer skills through child-friendly, educationalweb-sites. Wednesday or Thursday mornings 10:00 to 10:30 am

Join us for this two hour workshop where you'll learn a variety of jewelry making techniques and complete a project of your choice to take home.

Travelogue with Jonathan van Bilsen
Costa Rica Travel to Costa Rica without leaving Port Perry!
Back by popular demand! Join Jonathan van Bilsen for an evening of travel photography as he takes us on a tour of Costa Rica.  Explore this beautiful costal nation, through Jonathan's vivid and colourful images of its people and wildlife.

NEW! Zen Power Hour
woman meditating Feeling tired? Get energized with meditation, massage, and Qi Gong!
One hour with Zen meditation, solo massage, and Qi Gong, led by Reikimaster, Zen meditation instructor, and certified Qi Gong leader, Martin Avery.  Martin is the author of Zen Forest Meditation, The Secrets of Love Health And Wealth (With Grace And Ease And Perfect Timing)and many more. The Zen Power Hour will include a 10 minute warm-up, 20 minutes of Zen meditation, 10 minutes solo massage, 10 minutes of qi gong, and 10 minutes to cool down.

When: Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 pm starts July 14th (no class on July 21st) then runs July 28th to August 25th.
