DVD cover Adoration
Thursday, January 14th
at 6:30 pm

101 min. Rated 14A (for coarse language and mature themes)
The latest offering by Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan, 'Adoration' explorers his familiar themes of identity and belonging.  Centred around a troubled teen who writes a fictional story about his parents' involvement in a terrorist plot and, with the encouragement of his enigmatic teacher, takes his story online, stirring debate and unexpected emotional reactions.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Entre les Murs ("The Class")
Thursday, February 11th at 6:30 pm
126 Min.  Rated PG (OFRB rating). In French with English Subtitles.
Winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, master French director Laurent Cantet's The Class is an absorbing journey into a multicultural high school in Paris over the course of a school year. François Begaudeau--an actual teacher and the author upon whose work the film was based--is utterly convincing as François, an open-minded teacher in charge of a classroom of youngsters from a wide variety of backgrounds. Shooting in HD and working with a cast of young non-actors, Cantet allows The Class to breathe, resulting in a fictional drama that has the spirit and energy of a documentary. His startlingly assured ensemble brings the new, culturally diverse France of the early 21st century to striking life.

Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets foreach film are $1 and may be purchased at the Library up to a week in advance of the show times.  Seating is limited, so purchase tickets early!
