What's more fun than reading a great book? Reading a great book to a Great Dane!

Join SJA Therapy Dog Bella for Scugog Memorial Public Library's newest program: Paws for Stories.
Kids in Kindergarten to grade 6 can register for a 4 week session to read to Bella on Saturday mornings at the Library.

When: April 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th

Every participant gets a 15 minute time slot to read to Bella and readers must commit to attending all four sessions.

Cleansing: Spring Cleaning from the Inside Out
Spring is here and it's the perfect time to clean "House". Your body works hard day in and day out, yet when it "complains" and we experience symptoms, we are often taken by surprise. Learn why it's important to clean up from the inside out and some simple steps you can start right away to promote health.

Do You Have the Guts to be Healthy? 
There is so much new information being discovered today that is shedding light on the importance of our gut flora or "microbiome" and the immune system. Learn how the bacteria in our gut can be nourished and supported to create optimal health.

Pro-Aging: Turn back the clock and discover a vibrant you! 
Where did the time go?? Time marches on and our bodies start to show signs of wear and tear. Discover what happens when we age and how nutrition effects the expression of our genes. Sherri Doak is a graduate of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (Registered Holistic Nutritionist, RHN) and holds a BA in Psychology. Sherri worked at Nature's Emporium in Newmarket for five years where she educated customers through store tours, seminars and cooking classes. She enjoys working with clients to develop a focus on whole food nutrition and food preparation which is essential for success when adopting a natural diet.

North Durham Nature presents: Rouge River, Canada's First Urban National Park
"Rouge R iver, Canada's First Urban National Park" will be presented by Mike Bender of Toronto Region Conservation Authority and Richard Scott of Parks Canada . The Rouge River forms a great valley on the east and northeast side of Toronto, that has remained remarkably wild given its location. It was protected and managed by the TRCA until recently, but has been transferred to Parks Canada and will become an Urban National Park, a different concept of park.   Get insights into some of the unique features of the Rouge Valley and how this new park will be managed.

Zoomer Tech Club

Come in on Saturdays from 2-4 to talk about technology and get encouragement from your peers.  Sit down with your iPad, tablet or laptop and share tricks and tips that you have learned.  For one hour we will have a library staff member sit in with you to help troubleshoot computer problems.

This is a drop-in program and pre-registration is not required.

Parent 'n' Tot
