March Break at the Library: March 9th to 17th

March Break Movies!

The LEGO Ninjago Movie (G)  – Fri. March 9th at 2 pm

My Little Pony (G) – Sat. March 10th at 2 pm

Ferdinand (G) – Sat. March 17th at 2 pm

Tickets are $2 each or $5 for a family (up to 5 tickets) and go on sale Friday, February 23rd. Children under 10 must be supervised by an adult.

Make & Take Family Art Party!

Kids aged 3 to 6 and their parents or caregivers can kick off March Break with an hour of fun and creativity. We’ll supply all the materials for kids and their grown-ups to work together and create a masterpiece.
When: Monday, March 12 from 10:30 – 11:30 am.
Drop in program – no registration required.

Up-cycled Crafts

Kids aged 6 to 10 and their parents or caregivers can turn trash into treasures by reusing and re-purposing common household items into awesome new stuff! We’ll provide all the supplies- you just have to bring your imagination!
When: Monday, March 12 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
Drop in program – no registration required.

Techsplorers

Kids aged 8 to 12 can join us for this three-day program exploring a variety of technology from beginner coding to virtual reality.
When: Tues/Wed/Thurs March 13th-15th, 2 – 4 pm
Participants must register for all 3 sessions. The program size is very limited so please register early!

Nature-Friendly Bird Feeders

This hands-on program gives kids a chance to make a variety of earth-friendly bird feeders, made out of simple household items* to take home! Open to all ages – older kids can complete their own but kids under 8 will need a little help from a parent or caregiver.
When: Tuesday, March 13 from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm.
Drop in program – no registration required.
*Please not that this program uses Wow butter (soy) and bird seed (which may contain peanuts or tree nuts).

Art Attack!

Explore different media and take home some original creations! No experience needed – just bring your creativity!
When: Tuesday, March 13 from 2:30 – 4:00 pm.
Ages 8-12. Registration is required.
Note: We may be using permanent sharpies & other things that may stain, so wear old clothes!

Teddy Bear Sleepover

Drop your teddy bear (or doll, or stuffed animal) off at the library for an amazing after-hours sleepover! We’ll have a special drop-off story time to get the teddies tucked in & ready for their sleepover. Come back the next day for pick-up and see pictures of all the crazy fun your plush pals had overnight at the library!
Drop Off: Wednesday, March 14 from 10:30 – 11:30 am
Pick Up: Thursday, March 15 from 1:00 – 1:30 pm
This all ages program is free. Registration is not required but you must be able to attend both days to drop off and pick up your stuffed toys.

Snack Attack!

Learn how to put together some healthy snacks and delicious treats you can make yourself without turning on the stove or oven! You’ll make a variety of treats you can take home with you at the end of the program.
$10 per participant (to cover the cost of ingredients).
When: Wednesday, March 14 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
Ages 8-13. Registration is required and spaces are limited.

Family Storytime

Join us for a program with a ‘twist’ at this yoga-themed family storytime. We’ll share stories, songs and a craft. This program is open to ages 0 to 6 and their parents or caregivers. Registration is required.
When: Thursday, March 15th from 10:30 to 11:30 am

Zoo to You!

Join us for this interactive program with a variety of exotic animal visitors from Zoo to You!
All Ages.
Friday, March 16th

1st Show 10  to 11 am
2nd Show 11:15 am to 12:15 pm
3rd Show 1:15  to 2:15 pm
4th Show 2:30 to 3:30 pm

All ages. Children under the age of 10 must have a parent or adult caregiver present. Tickets are $5 each and go on sale February 23rd. Spaces are limited, so get your tickets early! (Please Note: All attendees over the age of 18 months must have a ticket, including adults and caregivers).

Decorate a Spring Bonnet

Bring an old or new hat (dollar store hats work well for this program) and decorate it to your heart’s content with all the spring themed trimmings we’ll provide. This fun family activity will result in spring bonnets you can sport at the Port Perry Easter Egg Hunt!
When: Saturday, March 17th  from 10:30 to 12:00 pm
